Genesis help

Genesis by Parafield is an app for iPhone and iPad for listening to narrated stories with music and sound, made by Parafield Inc. The stories in it are free; the app has no purchases.

Contact support

In the app, tap Profile, then Settings, then Email support. Tell us the app version (at the bottom of Settings), your device and iOS version, and, for a story, its title and roughly where in it.

Your account

You need a Parafield account to start using Genesis. Accounts are for people 13 and older. If the date of birth you enter gives an age under 13, the app deletes the account you signed in with, or signs you out of one also used on Parafield's websites, and you can keep using Genesis without an account. Your answers then stay only on your device.

Genesis signs you in with a Parafield account. Choose Apple, email or Google.

  • Apple or Google: creates your Parafield account the first time, and signs you in after that. An account created with Sign in with Apple works only in the Genesis app for now.
  • Email: create an account with your email address and a password, then enter the 6-digit code we email you to confirm it. If you already have one, sign in, or tap Forgot password? to choose a new password.
  • Sign out: Profile, Settings, Sign out. Your library, progress, history and profile stay with your account and on the device.

Delete your account

In the app, tap Profile, then Settings, then Delete account, and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first. The app first deletes your library, progress, history, profile and photo from our servers. It then deletes your Parafield account right away and removes your Genesis profile, library and history from the device. Old copies on our servers are gone within two days.

  • If you also sign in elsewhere at Parafield with this same account, that stops working too.
  • If Genesis tells you the account is also used on Parafield's websites, delete it at app.parafield.ai (Settings in your account menu), or email us from the account's address and we'll delete it. The app only signs you out, and your Genesis library, history and profile stay on our servers, even after you delete the account at app.parafield.ai. Email us to have them deleted.
  • Data you keep in other Parafield services isn't deleted by the app. Deleting your account at app.parafield.ai deletes your Parafield AI projects. To have your Genesis Reader purchases, reading progress and bookmarks deleted, email us from the account's address.
  • If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also stop using it with us in the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad: tap your name, then Sign-In & Security, then Sign in with Apple.

Your data

Your Parafield account holds your email address, the name Apple or Google shares, and the account's IDs. Genesis also keeps your library, saved and finished stories, listening progress, your most recent 1,000 listens, and your listener profile and photo with your account, on our servers in the United States. That way they follow you to other devices and when you reinstall the app. Your settings, downloads, notification settings and the Share usage data switch stay on your device.

  • Change your photo, name or gender: Profile, then Details.
  • See your account's email: Profile, Details, Account.
  • Stop reminders: Profile, Settings, Daily rhythm, then turn off Daily reminders, or turn off notifications for Genesis in the iOS Settings app.
  • Get new-story notifications: Profile, Settings, Notifications, then turn on New stories. They are off until you turn them on.
  • Stop usage data and crash reports: Profile, Settings, Privacy, then turn off Share usage data. The app sends them anonymously, without your account, name or email address.

Report a problem with a story

If a story has a mistake, sounds wrong, or contains something that shouldn't be there, email us with its title and roughly where. If you believe a story uses your work without permission, include your name and contact details, the work, the Genesis title, and a statement that you own the rights or act for the owner. We review reports and fix or remove content when needed.

Genesis Reader at genesis.parafield.ai, and the Genesis demo linked from parafield.ai, are websites. They are separate from the Genesis app, and the Parafield Privacy Policy and Terms of Service on parafield.ai cover them.
